It’s time for another Champions League preview. The first round of the Champions League offered a few surprises, which is always the story of European Football.

Notably, Real Madrid lost to Shakhtar Donetsk, but Shakhtar fielded a weaker team than usual. They went 3-0 up, but managed to hold on & finished with a 3-2 win.

The other shock was in France, where an inconsistent Man Utd managed to beat PSG 2-1. A fantastic performance form Axel Tuanzebe and Wan-Bissaka managed to keep two of the most expensive players in the world at bay.

Champions League Gameweek 2 Fixtures

Tuesday’s fixtures contain a few good matchups, but I am more inclined to say that Wednesday features the highlights. Tuesdays fixtures are:

Lokomotiv Moscow vs Bayern Munich
Shakhtar Donetsk vs Inter Milan
Atalanta vs Ajax
Atletico Madrid vs Red Bull Salzburg
FC Porto vs Olympiakos FC
Liverpool vs FC Midtjylland
M’gladbach vs Real Madrid
Marseille vs Manchester City

However, on Wednesday you’ll see a few mouth-watering clashes. It’s unfortunate, as I’d like to watch quite a few of these games, but I’ll have to pick one.

Wednesday 28th October

Istanbul Buyuksehir vs Paris Saint-Germain
Krasnodar vs Chelsea
Borussia Dortmund vs Zenit St. Petersburg
Club Brugge vs Lazio
Ferencvaros vs Dynamo Kiev
Juventus vs Barcelona
Manchester United vs RB Leipzig
Sevilla vs Rennes

The pick of the above clashes has to be Juventus vs Barcelona, but Manchester United vs RB Leipzig will also be a fantastic clash.

As a Premier League focused site, I’ll be watching the Man Utd clash against Leipzig. This will be interesting, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the scouts also in attendance. Dayot Upamecano, Angelino & Ibrahima Konate would certainly be under scrutiny, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see an excellent performance from them.

Man Utd vs RB Leipzig

After a great win against PSG, Man Utd will be looking to keep their momentum going. Leipzig won’t be an easy opponent, as they’re a fantastic team which haeve become a Champions League favourite, for all fans at home.

They play fantastic football, always looking for more goals. They performed really well last season, only coming undone at the hands of PSG… who are in the same group this year. It’s the group of death, but makes for excellent viewing. As any Nagelsmann branded football does!

Both teams won their opening fixture, but there’s no doubt that Man Utd currently are in the best position, having faced Neymar and co. They need to pickup at least a point against Leipzig, but a win at Old Trafford would work wonders for Ole’s men.

RB Leipzig won’t be approaching this tie with fear, they are fully aware of their capabilities. They will make things tough for Man Utd, pressuring them at every moment. We’ve seen Man Utd struggle under pressure this season & Leipzig will be fully aware of this. Rashford & Martial will also have to be on form, as they face defenders which are playing with top form.

I predict this one could end a draw. I’m going to say 1-1.
